Bringing Clarity and Inspiration to Branding and Messaging

Branding is the way your organization authentically shares your story about the work you do and why you do it. We emphatically believe that to be successful in pursuing your mission you must create and communicate messages that clearly describe what you are doing and why others should care. The complicating factors are that many people are delivering the message (your staff, board, volunteers, beneficiaries, etc.), you are communicating with many different audiences (members, donors, the public, the media, etc.), and well it is noisy out there so messages are hard to hear! In this workshop we will go through the steps that will help your organization create meaningful and clear messages and then create an action plan for sharing these messages.

Turning Every Interaction into a Moment to Remember

You have created a truly impressive organizational brand. You have an inspiring mission statement, your messages are clear and compelling, and your staff and board are cheering enthusiastically when they read your positioning statement. So now what? If you want to hit the marketing jackpot you need to unleash the power of word of mouth. Everyone associated with your organization, your staff, your partners, your board members, your volunteers and those who benefit from your programs is a potential ambassador with the power to move others with just one conversation or one click. In this workshop we will utilize a range of tools and techniques to increase the confidence of your messengers, to bring their stories to the forefront and into your outreach, and we will navigate the tricky territory of how to empower others while retaining control of the message.

Action Planning Workshop

While a strategic plan outlines your vision for the future, key initiatives, and often key performance indicators, the action plan is where the rubber hits the road. The action plan allows everyone at the organization the opportunity to show how their day-to-day activities bring the vision to life. Sometimes it is difficult for everyone in an organization to understand how to go from strategy to implementation. In this workshop, we’ll talk about an approach to translating the strategy into action and successful outcomes.

Leading Through Change

Leading through organizational change is difficult, especially when organizations neglect to prepare for the human side of change. Because change produces anxiety (for even the most seasoned employees), you can support your organization through change when you are clear, transparent, and define the vision for where the organization is going. Effective leaders communicate and listen leading up to and through change. We will talk about how to express your organization’s values and vision, include people in the process, engage others and share decision-making to strengthen the commitment to change.

Overcoming Internal Communications Challenges

Many of us have experienced communication challenges over the past year related to technology, the Pandemic, capacity, and other internal systems or organizational culture. Studies show that most organizations suffer from inattention to communication internally and how with good communication it is possible to improve the ability for your organization to collaborate and employees will feel both valued and empowered. In this workshop we’ll explore some key principles for effective communication, including testing assumptions, being direct (with kindness), clarity, listening, inquiry, and feedback, and how to build skills and practice effective communication techniques.
